What is a Facebook Party?

Do you remember going to other kid’s birthday parties as a kid? Those parties whose moms were serious over-achievers and had party games out the wazoo with all kinds of prizes? Well, a Facebook party is kind of like that, but instead of going to someone’s house, everyone goes to a Facebook page at a certain time. Instead of having cake and other sugary foods, we have all sorts of free giveaways like ebooks, audio books, books, cd’s, mp3′s and anything that happens to be donated as a giveaway for that particular party.

How does it work?

As we said above, a Facebook party is just like a ‘real’ party, but instead of going to someone’s house, we all go to a Facebook fan page like this one. Please don’t show up at my house the night of a Facebook party, I will most likely be in my pajamas and the only party game we will have is to see who can actually keep up with all of the comments on our Facebook page.

Where is the party?

On our fan page, however all of the giveaways are hosted on our website because Facebook does not allow you to host giveaways on their website. We will post links to the giveaways on our fan page throughout the evening, so you know where to find them.

Who is invited?

Absolutely anyone! I am a people person, and my husband heartily believes that the more people I have to talk to, the better off

How can I be involved?

There are four ways you can be involved with a Youthful Homemaker Facebook party.

1.  Be an Honored Guest - Honored Guests come for the freebies, to see the excitement, and to hear the guest speakers. Being a guest is a great way to find out about new blogs or sites.
2. Be a Promoter - If you have a blog, website, or business, we would really appreciate it if you would share the information about our Facebook parties with your readers. This will earn you a special mention during the party, which means free advertising for you and more guests for us. It’s a win-win for everyone!
3. Be a Guest Speaker - Guest Speakers are interviewed during  the party about things that relate to the theme of the party or their blog/business/whatever their specialty is. Usually we limit the interviews to three questions, then open the floor to see if any Honored Guests have any questions have questions.
4. Offer a Contest Item or Freebie - This is the best way to get exposure for your blog/website/ministry/etc. After all, everyone loves to try to win things and get free stuff. I usually recommend something digital like an mp3, ebook, or something along those lines because you can send as many copies out of that product as you want, but you don’t have to pay for shipping, which can be expensive. This is just a suggestion, we are by no means against things like books, DVDs, CDs, or other physical products. You are also not limited to just products. We have people who offer discount codes for their stores, interactive online calendars, and other fun items.

This I can describe in two words: free marketing. We have all kinds of businesses and blogs involved with our parties, so by being involved you are exposing yourself to a whole crowd of people who you might or might now be familiar with you. Plus, it’s fun!

How much is it to be involved?

We do not charge anything for involvement with our parties. We just like meeting new people, sharing freebies, and having fun in general. If you want to pay us, however, we definitely won’t refuse.

If I throw my own Facebook party, will you be involved?  

We love to be involved with other Facebook parties! Even if we are busy, we will do our best to be involved with your party. I can’t make any promises, because after all, a girl does have to sleep sometime, right?
